Our policies now include the Sex and Gender Equality in Research (SAFER) guidelines.

As part of our endeavor to improve our review and research wriiting process, we have now included the Sex and Gender Equality in Research (SAFER) guidelines in our editorial policies and author guidelines.

We encourage our authors to consider these guidelines when designing studies or reporting results in Bentham Science journals.

Bentham Science has Partnered with ReviewerCredits

We joined hands with ReviewerCredits, a platform that allows researchers to record their review activity and earn rewards for their efforts. We have added all of our journals to the platform. Any reviewer who is now registered to our in-house manuscript processing system will also be able to register to ReviewerCredits as a verified reviewer. Read the full Press Release here

Dr. Vladimir Torchlin makes it to the Citations Laureates 2023 list.

Clarivate’s 2023 Citation Laureates list is out, which includes many distinguished researchers whose work has impacted their respective fields. This list includes Dr. Vladimir Tochilin, Editor-in-Chief of Current Drug Discovery Technologies. The Bentham Science team congratulates him for his achievements and wishes him success in his future endeavors.

New Editors-in-Chief

Three Bentham Science journals are now under new leadership. Here are the new editors who will steer these journals.

Sergio L. Schmidt - Editor in Chief, Current Aging Science

Sergio Luis Schmidt is the new Editor in Chief of Current Aging Science. He holds a BSc in Physics with a major in biophysics, an M.D. in neurology, and a Ph.D. in behavioral neurology. Dr. Schmidt was a Killam postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada from 1990 to 1993. He served as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Psychology (U of A) from 1993 to 1998. Beyond academia, he assumed the role of Ambassador of the Alberta Educational System in Brazil from 1995 to 2000.

His extensive academic journey includes being a Full Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro for nearly two decades from 2002 to 2019. Notably, he has been a Titular Member of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology since 2002. Currently, he holds the position of Full Professor at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, within the neurology postgraduate program since 2019. Dr. Schmidt's wide-ranging expertise and focus on neurology, backed by his robust academic background, make him a valuable asset as the Editor in Chief of Current Aging Science.

Jie Shu – Eastern Editor, Current Chinese Science

Professor Jie Shu, the new Executive Editor-in-Chief of Current Chinese Science, is currently a distinguished full professor at Ningbo University. His academic journey includes holding key positions like the director of the Institute of Energy Materials and Industrial Catalysis since 2018, and previously, the director of the Laboratory of Energy Chemistry since 2009.

Dr. Shu is a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has performed postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST, Japan), Université de Picardie Jules Verne, and Centre National de la Recherché Scientifique (CNRS-LRCS, France).

Dr. Shu has made substantial contributions, notably in the domain of advanced materials for rechargeable batteries. His prolific research output includes over 350 peer-reviewed papers, 2 book chapters, and a commendable portfolio of 40 patents. Professor Shu’s expertise and dedication to scientific advancement have significantly enriched the field of energy materials and industrial catalysis.

Dr. Marco Colizzi – Executive Editor-in-Chief, Current Social Sciences

Dr. Marco Colizzi has joined as the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Current Social Sciences and will lead the Psychiatry section of the journal. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Udine, Italy. He completed his medical degree at the University of Bari, Italy, in 2009 and then pursued residency in psychiatry at the same university, culminating in 2015.

Dr. Colizzi's academic journey further led him to attain a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from King’s College London, United Kingdom, in 2018. He has served as a visiting faculty member at King’s College and the University of Verona since then.

Dr. Colizzi's research is focused on the neuropsychopharmacology and neurocognitive function of psychosis and neurodevelopmental conditions. His work emphasizes prevention and early intervention strategies in mental health. He has published over 100 papers in academic journals.

Additionally, Dr. Colizzi has been honored with numerous awards and accolades from renowned national and international institutions, underlining his significant contributions to the field.
