ASAP launches the Lois T. Flaherty, M.D. Memorial Fund
The American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry (ASAP) has established the Lois T. Flaherty, M.D. Memorial Fund in remembrance of Dr. Flaherty’s remarkable contributions to our community. Dr. Flaherty, who passed away on May 11, 2025, was a Distinguished Life Member of ASAP, serving in numerous leadership roles, including ASAP President and, for 22 years, Editor-in-Chief of the official ASAP journal, Adolescent Psychiatry. Her dedication was recognized with the Staples Award for Leadership and Service — twice — an unprecedented honor. This fund will help ensure eligible ASAP members receive discounted subscriptions to Adolescent Psychiatry and support the annual Lois T. Flaherty Resident Paper Award, celebrating her legacy of mentorship.
